The 8th Games of La Francophonie ended on Sunday, July 30, 2017, in Abidjan, during a ceremony that brought together thousands of people at the “Akwaba Village”.
“The President of the Republic and the Government of Côte d’Ivoire are pleased and proud to have noted … this important challenge,” said Ivorian Vice-President Daniel Kablan Dunkan in his address. The ceremony lasted 2 hours and ended with the launch of fireworks.
The closing ceremony was marked by the performance of Ivorian artists, a giant fresco that brought together several hundred artists led by the Ivorian choreographer Georges Momboye and the parade of the 53 delegations present at these games.
The cloak is on the 9th Francophone Games that will be held in the next 4 years in Canada, in the province of New Brunswick.
