From December 6 to 08, 2024, the MASA FESTIVAL Internal Artist Selection Committee held meetings in Abidjan at MASA headquarters to select artists for the MASA FESTIVAL in preparation for the 13th edition of MASA to be held from April 13 to 20, 2024 in Abidjan around the theme: YOUTH, INNOVATION AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP: levers for the development of the African performing arts industries.

The internal committee studied 632 entries from 32 countries, which were registered on the application platform.

At the end of its work, the committee selected:

– 11 artistic groups in music, including 2 Diptych Programs;

– 3 in theater;

– 7 in dance, including 2 in heritage dance and 5 in contemporary dance;

– 3 in slam;

– 4 in comedy;

– 5 in circus and puppetry;

– 2 in storytelling.

A total of 35 artists and artistic groups from 13 countries were included in the official selection.
